At 62 in may I have decided to try and get fit again, as I have done bugger all since last June, when they shut the gates, in the Victorian High Country, for winter.
Fitness of some sort definately helps with hunting Sambar deer.

So it was up the outside of the Milk Spray Drier Building, at work.
That's a 200+ ft climb to the top.
It ended without a heart attack, no stopping, or Asthma....
Bloody hell.. I'm a Legend (that a total of 5 minutes in nearly 62 Years)

Now here is the twist,
TODAY "my freeking thighs are aching like hell"
Yes, I am a bit of a sook, but am loving it..

The photo is from last June, just 4 days before they shut the gates
Dunno why I put a snapshot on the forum from last winter, as its 90+ every day here at the moment, I suppose I am just syncronizing the photo's with your winter .
hehehehe

Keep up the work Bucky. I'll be 65 in May. Don't know if I could make that 200 ft climb or not....... Ya did good. It hurts "real good" don't it.
You done good Bucky. Keep after it mate.
You're a better man than I.
Im 54 and feel like that after working in the yard:eek:
It's more than I could do and I'm only 51  .
I`m 50 and need to get off my duff to...Keep it up Bucky
You're the man Bucky!!! What doesn't kill ya, makes you stronger.
Way to go Bucky. I'm convinced if we stay healthy and fit we can stay comfortably in the hills for a long time.

We just started a fitness thread over at HPFF. I'm 53 and you boys don't want to know what I'm doing to stay fit. One of the ex Navy guys is a fitness guru and he pointed out it has a fancy name. I just call it puking exercise, cause if I'm doing it right it sometimes makes me feel like puking. But it is working very well.;)
Cheers guys

Fit.... No bloody way, I used to be fit, but past sins have caught up with me.

Can't believe that from age 32 to 48, I ran Marathons, and fun runs.

Never mind, the older I am getting, the better I was

Go me !

Ya, but my point is if you don't have any dangerous health problems that prevent you from getting fit, you still can. It's a whole lot harder than it used to be to get through the first few weeks, in fact you might swear it's killing you, but I literally feel 35 again. Now I know it's impossible to quantify what I felt like at 35, but I'm fit again, and because my workout includes weights I'm cut again too. The wife loves it,:D and so do my heart and lungs. I have wind again.
Congrats Bucky. Keep on trucking. As I have posted when I joined the group. My son rewoken my interest in shooting and hunting. Before September I tilted the scale at 445. I changed my eating habits, to be able to take my son hunting. We've been out squirrel hunting a few times. But no squirrels have harmed to date. Lol We hope to do better at spring turkey hunting in May. Anyway..... I now weigh 377 lbs and hope to to be 360 on the 12th, my 50th b-day.

Thanks Bucky. Keep up your good work also. One pound at a time.
