I have a model 60 and that's my choice. They have been making them for more than 50 years, and have made 11 million. and they hold 5 more rounds than the 795 Go with the Model 60 first then later the 795.

Model 60 hands down

Model 60 hands down, I paid $70 for a 1980 model that did not have 20 rounds through it and not a scratch and then decided to do the below to it for $60 from ATI, and a Tasco scope. Get the 60 first after 11 million made and are tougher than a ponderosa 75 cent steak, then pick up a 795.

Marlin's website states that they have sold over 11 million of the popular Model 60 and they dub it the most popular .22 in the world. Any rifle that has been in production for 50 years and has sold 11 million copies is a gun that has proven itself as reliable and useful.

I love the stock.
Yea, a lot of the new Model 60s I saw on Gun Broker seemed to have very plain wood stocks with very little visible grain showing. My XT and Model 60 both have very rich dark wood grain showing through. Very pretty! Now if the 795 ever has the option for a wood grain stick, I might have to ask Santa for one.
