Hi all,

After considerable, unencumbered, internet research ... I've just brought a new ... still in the box ... 1895GBL home. I was new in the box at the store. I gave it a real good look over (best I could anyway). So far I am very pleased with this rifle. It took a while for me to make my mind up ... what with all the problems Remington/Marlin has been having - and there is Henry.

I've read where R/M has resolved these issues? any ways ... I'm liking what I've seen so far. The action is smooth ... trigger is ok ... feels good. So, I like it. Haven't shot it yet. At these prices ... I'll be rolling my own ammo. Still I've got a box of Hornady 325gr and a box of Remington 405gr. Core-Lock.

My preference is going to be the lighter of the two. We'll see what we will see.

Figured this would be a good place to have in the old tool-box?

So ... howdy!

Howdy, New2Marlins, and welcome to the camp. C'mon over here by the fire and have a set-down on this here stump. Coffee is in the pot; help yourself. I did happen to notice a most serious lack of pictorial evidence of this Marlin you claim to own. We lust for Marlin porn here.

Thanks!

Pictures? ... I can do that. Once I get it back together. Any time I get a new firearm ... I just have to take it apart. This thing has a lot of screws! One of those 'magnetic bowl thingies' are going to be in my cleaning kit.

Lot of black muck ... assembly grease?

Gives me an idea of what tools I'll need to go with it and I am looking a bullets, powder and loads. I'll be sticking to store bought for the short term. And ... of course ... better iron sights. Rear, at least. :D
