Hey Guys,

My Dad had a mild heart attack two weeks ago and a subsequent valve replacement. His recovery is coming along nicely but his spirits are really low. He and my mom could really use your prayers right now.

Thank you

28, I was told by my Pop's doctor that after heart surgery and/or a heart attack it is not uncommon for the patient to go through a bout of depression. My dad came out just fine. I am sure your dad will too. Prayers will help so count me in the circle.
I've heard the same thing that Hombre is talking about. I'm told that it is normal to have a bout with depression with a heart attack. I've put him and her on my prayer list. What are their names? God knows, but I think he likes to hear names! lol

I'll ask God tonight on your father's behalf. Having been so close...I understand. It's tough for a man to swallow being diminished and push on, but here's hope he will. Spoon
Prayers sent. There is hope for tomorrow. Keep the faith.
Not sure if it will help much, but my grandma survived 8 in a 2 year period. She went on to live another 30 years, smoking 2 packs of Cools a day with no more heart issues. And that was with no surgery. Help your father believe it's not a death sentence, and he has lots more to contribute to his loved ones lives.
If I had a heart attack I`d be depressed to, Prayers sent for a speedy recovery and brighter days...

Thanks everybody for your prayers. My dad (George) is doing much better - spirits up but a nagging post-operative cough. Mom (Shirley) is doing better but this whole thing has really brought to our attention her onset of dementia. Tough to see our parents age but it comes to us all and being people of faith we know that no matter how hard those later miles are, the reward is worth the trip.

Way to be there for him Shooter. Hopefully he will be around for many more years but it is comforting to know you are sure of his place after here and the Lord will take care of the rest. Best of luck there and prayers will continue for the strength of you and your family to handle what ever comes your way. God Bless.
