Looking at a Marlin 336W produced by Marlin Remington in 2013, at a glance it looks like real wood, but suspect laminate... anybody know?

Hey Frank! Howz the competition shooting going? Yeah Mon, we moved close to a small town, Clifton TN. We close on a construction loan on Monday and I start building our house. Then I'm gonna retire for the last time. I hope that I can last through one more.
    Again, hows the shooting going?

Follow up to my original post. I did a complete takedown for cleaning, removing the Buttplate revealed laminate.
