I am thinking of getting one, I know a guy who wants to make a trade.
What is this worth? It has a Nikon Pro Staff 3x9x40 scope with Luepold rings. What kind of distance are these good out to. I am not familiar with the 7mm round.

The 7MM Mag is a great round. On par with the .270 and a little flatter shooting than the 06 with same weight bullet. Probley good to as far as you want to shoot any critter, including elk and probley Moose.

Now for the rifle. The Rem 710 was produced from 2001-06. You will be hard pressed to find any favoriable reviews on it. Had a recall on some for unsafe safety. Famous bad bolts and a Madrid of other problems. In a package deal went from low of $177 to around $275. Was replaced by the model 770. I wont give any trading advice as you know what you have to trade. Good scope tho ..... :p
I have to agree with SWO1.
As for the caliber, the .284 is hard to beat.
Never owned a Rem. 710 but from what I've heard, that's a good thing. Don't like to knock another persons equipment but the 710 reviews aren't very positive.
