I was going to replace the trigger and sear springs on my old model 80 because the trigger was not very good, but the rifle shoots really really well.
So I removed the trigger and the sear and cleaned them up and got a new trigger spring that is lighter than the original. Problem is I cannot figure out how put the sear spring back for the life of me. It is just too stiff. I have tried getting my son to help put the pin in while I press on the sear but even using both hands I cannot compress the spring enough to put the sear pin back.
Is there a trick to this?
Any help would be appreciated. lol I might have to go buy a new squirrel gun, but this one belonged to my grandfather and I really want to get it back together for sentimental reasons.
