I have heard that there is a kit available to smooth out the lever action, and work on the trigger too .

If so where and how much ?

I put one of these triggers in my 1895 GBL and it is the best damn trigger I have on a lever gun PERIOD. Well worth the $75.00

Apparently the smooth lever may well come with some polishing, but keep in mind that it may take out the "hard casing", on the lever.
May look at a big loop yet.
