When I was growing up on our family farm in central Illinois in the 1940's and 1950's there weren't any deer around our area so my dad, my brother and I hunted upland game and water fowl. Consequently, I never developed an interest in center fire rifles. However, I am extremely fond of Marlin Model 90 O/U shotguns.
My first Marlin shotgun was a used 12 ga. Model 90DT made in 1950 that dad bought used for me in 1957 when I was 14. Over the years I have "accumulated" a total of 16 Model 90's, both single and double trigger versions, in 12, 16 and 20 gauge and .410 bore, as well as a .22/.410 combo and a special "Skeetking" that was only sold in 1939 and 1940 by special order.
I also have two Marlin .22 rifles, an 81-DL and a 70D Papoose.
Here are photos of some of my Model 90's and my 16 ga. Skeetking.
