Well he did it. We went to my sister and brother n laws place for some squirrel hunting. He took a hour nap shortly after arriving , being he was up late the night before camping with his Scout troop. He's getting a lot better at sitting and listening to the sounds if the woods. We seen one lonely squirrel. He stopped at about 20 yards out, nose rooting around looking for acorns. Facing quarting towards us , not waiting for it to turn sideways. Eli took his shot. A nice headshot giving the squirrel a third eye and exiting its neck.

He was using my Ruger 10/22 with bushnell sportsview scope. I've been trying to load a pic but having technical difficulties with my PC

A nice RED......did ya teach him how to clean em.....:p The gravy on fried taters is great.
Definitely on the cleaning. He kept picking at the inerds to see what's all in there. Amateur biology 101 LOL.
We are 2 for 4. We each missed the last ones at about 12-15 feet. Shot right over them.

We went for turkey. 11 hours in the blind. We seen plenty of squirrels, but no turkeys. The property owners to the south started up their saws cutting trees for winter fuel, and to the west, a tractor baling hay. So I figured that would keep away the birds. Them critters are smart. You go for squirrels, you see turkey. You go for turkeys, you see squirrels. LOL
