While picking up a good deal on .22 sub-sonic ammo at my LGS this morning another regular customer was looking for a .40 for his brother. Wes didn't have one left in stock. After shooting mine this Saturday me and the grandson had decieded it was not preferred over the revolvers.

I told him I had one, A Hi-point, 3 mags, double mag pouch, holster, 250 rds of ammo, and a set of RCBS carbide dies I would be willing to part with. He made an offer ( I couldn't refuse). It is enough to get the Rossi Wizzard .308 AND additional .243 barrel......:D We are both HAPPY. I will pick up the .223 and .35 Whelen tubes later when they come in stock.

His brother lives up by KC and will be down Saturday.

SW01,
Let me know how you like the Wizard. I have tossed around the idea to get one in 243. Whatever other barrels I decide on...we shall see.
Thanx

Well done SWO1.
I am also interested in a report on the Wizard. I have always liked the idea of a single shot rifle.
I've owned 2 NEF singles and found both to be sub standard as far as accuracy. One was a 223 and the other a 243. 2.5"+ groups at 100 yards wasn't satisfactory in my eyes so I sold them both.

SSK Industries

For real! I have been looking at them also. I've always had the itch to get some of the Thompson Contenders but I never had the scratch. lol
Hey Gump,
Ever seen an SSK Industries version of the Contenders and Encores? BIG Boomers.

I also had a H&R .243 single. Shot OK, about 1" to 1.5". Only shot Rem. Core-Lok and Fed thru it, but adequate.

Cannot find any reviews newer than a couple years old on the Wizards. Seems there are either good ones or bad ones. Guess it will be a roll of the dice on the barrels I get. I'm hoping since Taurus acquired Rossi that some of the earlier problems have been resolved. I will find out soon enough.

I picked up the Rossi/Taurus Wizzard .308 and .243 barrel today. Will Clean it up. Won't get to shoot it till maybe the weekend as the weather has went bad again. Looks like Saturday maybe Sunday.
