Went to Wally Mart today same thing no ammo in stock. The salesperson asked me if I need any thing. Well yes ammo but I see nothing has changed and your out of stock. Then he went on to tell me that every other day at 7pm they are getting ammo and a steady supply every other day at 7 pm and to call ahead of time, and sell out as it comes in. I asked if their getting any 22LR ......no:mad: So Maybe things are turning around.

Got to Wally World at 0630, I was #10 in line. At 0640 they came out and announced there was NO .22. Half the people left. At 0700 they had .380, 9MM,.38, .357, .40, and .45 acp. Also .223. Most picked up the 9MM in 100 pks and .223. I got 3 100 rd 45 acp packs (for the brass). Win white box for $35 a box.

Also while waiting in line a neighbor who lives down the road said he picks up brass at the conservation range and sorts it when he gets home. Has a bunch of .45 that he dosnt shoot or use. Will give it to me. What a deal....:D Of course I extended an invite to shoot at the home range.

So the 30 minute wait in line was worth it

After dropping my grandson off at weightlifting this morning got to Wally Mart at 0635. He was late getting out of the house by 10 minutes and I was 4th in line. #3 beat me in the lobby door by 2 steps...

At 7 there were 10 of us. Once to the ammo counter they had 10 boxes of Federal 325 count Target .22 and 2 boxes of 50 ct. 9MM. Being 4th I got "1" box. After seeing seeing only 10 boxes of .22 everybody behind me left.

I re-boxed the loose .22 from the bulk pack into those nifty 50 round trays I save that I get the Aguila .22s in. I hate bulk, loose ammo. Did a count of rim fire ammo and I am down to a little less than 5,000 rounds. Will make the ole "hurry up and wait" in line routine for a while as I have to be in town with my grandson on Mon, Wends, and Fridays anyway.

I have never seen anything new at our local Wal-Mart!! Same ole spots with a few boxes on it week after week. I was told you have to know someone who works there to get any ammo. Does not sound kosher to me!

It does seem kind of odd that different Wal-Marts would get regular ammo shipments and others not. Ours here in Buffalo Mo. is a small one, not a Super Center and Not open 24/7. Closes at 2100 and opens at 0700. But they do get regular ammo shipments on Sun, Tues, and Thurs nights. Latley .22 and most handgun. Friday they had .308 which was the only rifle ammo they had been out of. The only handgun ammo that stays short is .38/.357. I reload those so don't mind. Almost always have .44, .45 and 9mm, even .380 a lot.

I have noticed around here .223 sales have dropped off a lot. Wal-marts and my LGS has them most all the time. Also AR gun sales have really slacked off. A couple of Wal Marts still have them on the rack as does my LGS.

I will go by again Monday morning as I have to have the grandson at Weightlifting by 0630. I am done buying .45 acp but if there happens to be any .22 left by the time I shuffle the line....:p I have to hang around town till 0800 to pick him back up anyway.

Grandson was sick lastnight so didn't go to weightlifting this morning. I was up so went in early. Got there at 0530. Was #2. At 0540 they posted a sign in the lobby with the ammo report.....DISMAL SHIPMENT...One box of .45 acp and a bunch of rifle and shotgun. NO .22.

Stood in the parking lot and talked to a couple of guys untl 0610. Watched about 10-12 come, read the ammo report and leave.... Good that they now post the shipments prior to opening so no one waits an hour+ for nothing.

The great ammo run came to an end at the Local Wall Mart this week. One box of .45 Monday, and NOTHING Wendsday and Friday. But my LGS did stock .22, .380. 9mm, .38, and .45 along with .223 yesterday. He has a 2 box limit. Of course he is higher than Wallys ammo but I like his .22 a lot better. I should round up the wife, daughter, brother and visiting sister and pile em in the truck and go pick up a brick.......:D

Have you been noticing a trend ,are they keeping a more stocked inventory or is it touch and go?

For here anyway...Rifle rounds, except for .223, never went out of stock. 30.06, .270, .300, 30-30, .243 remain and still aren't selling out. .308 seems to be a little more rare than any rifle round other than .223. Although the High Dollar .308 was and is still plentiful.

Pistol comes and goes fast. .44 and .45 colt seems to sit and gathers dust.

Wes, the LGS owner let me have a brick of the .22. This is the stuff I like the best. Shoots as good or better than CCI thru my autos. Twice as much as Wally World Federal Target but my guns (autos) don't like it much. To many FTF and FTE. I save it for the revolvers. This is made by Aguila and he carries it regularly. This is what a brick looks like....LOL

OH....and the price ACTUALLY went down $5 a brick from last month......

After leaving the Dr. Office I was only a few blocks from Bass Pro so thought why not. Didn't have any great expectations. NO POWDER, NO BULLETS, The ammo shelves were pretty bare....EXCEPT FOR .223. Lots of it. In 20 rd. boxes at $10.50....not bad.

Gun cases were pretty well stocked back up. Pistol cases were full. Rifle racks were also. I asked when they expected primers....Low-and-Behold, he said they had em, behind the counter.....all flavors, 2000 limit. Just not on the shelf. I asked for Federal, He Lied, only had CCI. I picked up 2 bricks of CCI large pistol @ $38 ea. Everything else I have plenty of.

Took the grandson to football practice this morning. Since I was there stopped by Wal-Mart @ 0700. had a pretty good stock. 500, 225, and 100 boxes of Remington Golden Bullet .22 LR. Also plenty of .40, .45 and even had .357 and .38. Didn't look at the others but shelves were full. I passed on the .22 and got a 100 pack of Remington .38+p. I want the brass with the +P headstamp....
