How many hunters were involved in this pic? Geeze that was one heck of a successful hunt. Are most kills while the foxes are on the run or sitting still?
Buggered if I know, but I bet they had fun By the look of the foto, 2 drivers, 2 on the spotlights, and 2 shooters, and I bet that were swapping jobs too !.
Any idea what the pelts are worth???? Looks like a bumper crop that needed thinned out for sure. Fun to be had by all.
In Victoria. you get $10 a fox, Scalp Guy's living close by in New South Wales, and South Australian, (not far over the borders) would shoot Foxes, in their home states. Scalp them and when they had enough, would take a drive across the borders, to their Mates place, and then get him to drop them into the collection places. Get paid and then have a big "Piss up" for a couple of days, and go home, or else share the money's and go get more Rifles.. That's a "good lerk". I knew this young fellar who shot heaps of foxes, and used to skin them, roll them up, and put them into a "big" freezer, and when he filled it, used to ring this Buyer in Melbourne, and he would Pay $20 a Pelt. The Shooter used to make a good $ doing this, as he had access to an ample supply of foxes. Dunno how much it cost him to run the freezer, but he lived on a farm with his Dad, do I guess Pa, used to pay for the running cost of the freezer. A "Farmer Assist" has been started off in OZ, but not all States,( including My Home State Victoria,) have come on board yet. http://farmerassist.com.au/ That's a great idea,. Cheers Bucky

Four4D4 As far as I know, .....Crocs are protected in Oz ! I don't shoot them, not even interested, but when travelling in "croc country", or known habitats, I keep a weary eye out The big bad boys are pushing juvinile Crocs further South each year. Just how far South, I don't know
