have a friend with a Western Field model M72B, its a lever 30-30, I know its Mfg by Mossberg for Montgomery Ward.

Its in EXCELLENT condition, serial number 68XXXX....can anyone tell me age and or value as I am considering making a bid to purchase.

Vic....I believe your friends rifle is from somewhere in the middle 1970's. If in excellent condition as you describe the price range is $225-300.00. Once you start to get into the $300 range I would prefer to spend my money on a Marlin. JMHO
