I like all my Marlins in their own special way. However, lately my 35 Rem is getting a lot of range time. It is a 1958 336A with an old wide view 2 -7 power Redfield. I have been working on a load with the 204gr Lyman mould.

Next week I might be shooting something else and it will be my favorite.

I think ole "JAKE" would say the 35 SS-LTD would be his favorite. A million laughs ;)

    favorite marlin

I think i got my first marlin 1952-53 i know it was a single shot, just having my own 22 was great. Then i bought my first lever 336 35cal 1973 gave that to my son, and recently got a 2008 1894 44mag. I had a 1894 44mag in 90's sorry i sold it. The 35 was real good to me for alot of yrs, but my fav. would have to be the 1894 44mag.

I've owned several Marlins thru the years and loved them all w/ the exception of the Glenfield 60 semi auto.Every one I've ever had in my hands had a lousy feeling trigger, only negative thing I could say.I love my 336 in .35 and w/ the handloads I've developed for it I would't trade it for ANYTHING.

My favorite would have to be the 336C in 30-30. I have had at least one in the gun rack since I was in the 9th grade..

Funny. Your top one looks like my Brothers 336C 30-30 Great Wood almost like Presentation Grade. The bottom one looks like my 30-30 just plain Jane! I went to buy a Unversal M1 Carbine but when I got to K Mart they had the 30-30 on sale and I convienced myself I should get the 30-30. So I went and got my Brother who was 18 (I was 14 but had a dishwashing job) and my brother who was a yr older than me and worked at the same place so he like it and decided to get one too. When they brought his out it was Beautiful!

    Nice looking Pair!

    Model 60 or 336?

I have always favored my model 60 semiauto. But now that I have a 336 in 30-30 I will have to say...I can't decide.

Well, a certain .30-30 RC straight stock made in the mid-70's. Someday maybe it will be the big ol .45-70 cowboy gun.
Probably should shed some quasi-military rifles and buy some more Marlins.. a .45-70 would be nice...

I would say that my 1894C wins hands down as my favorite, followed closely by my Model 39 with a 16 1/2" barrel.
