I am curious where others shoot. I live in a small farm town but I do live in town. I can't shoot on my property but I know many of you can. I go to a (fairly) local indoor range at a very awesome gun shop. I have yet to find a good and inexpensive outdoor range though I much prefer shooting outdoors.

So, here it is.........where do you shoot?

Windy, i live in a very rural area and have my own land and a few years ago built a 100 yard gun range behind my house. i have pallets that are placed at 25, 30, 50, 75, and 100 yards for targets. i use an old table right now for a shooting bench, but have in place plans on a proper shooting table with an awning to cover it from the sun.
I shoot at a public range run by the Conservation Dept. for the most part. If I have the time I go to a buddies farm.
I shoot at a local outdoor range, with one to be opening closer I will become a member when they open
I belong to a small gun club in southern Pennsylvania and shoot up there. I do sometimes take my house gun (pistol) to a local indoor range but I really prefer shooting outside.

I prefer shooting outside, too. Twice a year I drive down to Kentucky to shoot with a friend I met on another gun forum. We go to an outside range where I was able to fulfill a dream of shooting a watermelon. We have also shot gallon jugs filled with water and other fun things. I have also shot up a pumpkin there, too. I am going again at the end of September and I think this time I want to shoot cans of pop and watch them explode. This man has become a good friend and he, his wife and family always welcome me with open arms and a hot grill of elk burgers, rib eye steaks, etc. I go there and get absolutely spoiled for the weekend. Then I come back home to reality. :(
I live in a rural town too but was born and raised in the country.I shoot on that property which belongs to me and my siblings since the passing of my dad. I hope to buy it from them, but if not and we wind up selling it to someone else, I'll see if my brother will let me shoot at his house.
I am a Life Member of a Club located about 20 miles from my home. Shelby County Deer Hunters Assoc.
I believe it is the oldest Hunting Club in Ohio and maybe the nation. Organized in 1858.

I also have a friend that lives in the country and he invites me over from time to time.
There is another Club a little closer where I have shot for years but it's not as nice nor as friendly.
Back when I was into Trap Shooting and Sporting Clays, I traveled to several clubs within 60 miles or so.
I belong to a small local club , 40 $ / year and a nice rifle range . They also have the scattergun sports from trap to skeet to sporting clays , and an archery range . I just like the rifle range . We have a camp in the Adirondacks , no problem shooting up there , except most of time I'm up there it's hunting season , so I try to keep my shooting limited up there.
I shoot at my parents place, or a friends.
I have several options. I shoot at a friends property where we have set up a 50yd range, I belong to local sportsmans club ($25.yr) where there are indoor and outdoor ranges (no RO's) always have either to myself, or there is an DNR/Conservation Club with outdoor range at 25, 50 & 100 yd distances with covered shooting stations which is kept up by volunteers. Several reasons why I like living in the stick among gun people.
I shoot my handguns indoors at 3 different ranges in my travels, I also have access for my shotgun and Rifles to two different outdoor free ranges that are run by the State!
I shoot at a lgs indoor range here in Duncanville and at an outdoor rifle range in Arlington, TX. Soon will be joining a private club in Central Texas that has a 200 yard rifle, skeet, trap and handgun range.

I've got my own range, covered on a concrete pad. Stable bench with seat with vice and sandbagged. Fixed target frame for rifle with stations at 25, 50 yds also. Pistol range from the same covered stand with range out to 25 yds. Also have room on property to go 600+ yds but my 6 deer stands have longest shooting lanes to 125 yds. Almost all my deer are taken 50-90 yds. I dont hunt the open fields, like the timber....:D
Out in the west there is a lot of public land, and it's legal to shoot and hunt on most of it. I used to go to a local indoor, but they don't allow lead and that's just about all I shoot now.
