Can anyone tell me if the Williams FP-94/36 will fit my 1894S? The specs list the Marlin 36, 336, 444, 44 Magnum, 93, 1895 and 1895G. But not the 1894. The Williams FP-336 lists the 1894, saying that when the FP-336 is used on an 1894, a hammer extension will be needed. The FP-94/36 is mounted using the side plate screw. That is what want to use, not the top screw mount that is used on the FP-336 sight. Thanks.
My experience is that the Williams site is too wide for the 1894 it will fit with a bit of filing but the "bridge" over the receiver will not look centered.
I recently fit my 1894 with a Williams base and a '50s model williams bridge from a Winchester '94. It looks good, fits better than current 336/94 Williams sights.
Thanks for your help. Is the base and bridge that you mentioned still available from Williams? Do you have part numbers? Thanks.
For the 1894 - take a look at Skinner Sights unless you are set on Williams. I put some on my 1894C, with a taller front.
