Action can't be removed from the stock of a new Mod. 70 feather weight. Seems to be stuck in the recoil lug area as if no release agent was applied when glass bedding was done.

Has anyone encountered this and is there a solution other than returning the gun, paying shipping again x 2 and possibly having the next gun with the same issue?

Dealer basically washed his hands by telling the owner to contact winchester.

Winchester wouldn't take it back and make it good.

So much for Winchester and that tells all of us and your friends where Winchester can shove their guns assembled in Portugal.

The mod. 70 winchester was taken to a gunsmith to have the action removed. His statement was "I've never seen such a sloppy job of bedding".

Have been a faithful winchester owner for 60 years but BYE, BYE winchester.
