My wife bought me this system for Christmas...and I must say it works pretty damn good. Now, every knife, pair of scissors, axe, shovel blade, ...anything that has an edge ...is now razor sharp !!

The Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener uses flexible abrasive belts, and is able to sharpen not just straight bladed knives, but also curved knives, tanto blades, filet knives, serrated knives, gut hooks and virtually any other shape of knife blade. Using precision angle sharpening guides to ensure that you get the proper angle every time...there are two guides included: a 50° guide for hunting and outdoor knives (25° per bevel) and a 40° guide for thinner blades and kitchen knives (20° per bevel).

The one thing I could never do is sharpen a knife, My dad could sharpen any knife with his old worn out oil stone..He tried teaching me but I guess you just gotta have the knack for it.

Yes, the only way to properly sharpen a knife is to consistently get the right angle ( bevel )...

which can be hard to do when using a wet stone...

That looks like a really nice system. Thanks for sharing.

I still sharpen knives the old fashion way. Many years ago, I was a Meat Cutter and would sharpen knives on a Steel. After that, I worked maintenance in a rubber hose factory. Everyone there carried a knife and would bring them to me to be sharpened. I still have a variety of wet stones and a couple Steels.

Let us know how that works for you.

I get best results with crock sticks. Good thing, it's the only sharpener I know how to use. ;)
