My wife bought me this system for Christmas...and I must say it works pretty damn good. Now, every knife, pair of scissors, axe, shovel blade, ...anything that has an edge ...is now razor sharp !!

The one thing I could never do is sharpen a knife, My dad could sharpen any knife with his old worn out oil stone..He tried teaching me but I guess you just gotta have the knack for it.

Yes, the only way to properly sharpen a knife is to consistently get the right angle ( bevel )...

which can be hard to do when using a wet stone...

I still sharpen knives the old fashion way. Many years ago, I was a Meat Cutter and would sharpen knives on a Steel. After that, I worked maintenance in a rubber hose factory. Everyone there carried a knife and would bring them to me to be sharpened. I still have a variety of wet stones and a couple Steels.

Old school beats machines any day in my book...but for us amateurs...

I get best results with crock sticks. Good thing, it's the only sharpener I know how to use.
