Helping an elderly friend reduce his collection as a favor. He purchased this side by side new in 1972. Condition appears excellent. He thinks he function fired it once but otherwise it has been in the safe. We think the recoil pad was professionally installed after purchase but he really does not recall for sure. Period literature does not mention a recoil pad option.

Researched it a little and found the following:

Marlin Firearms re-introduced LC Smith shotguns in 1968 and production ran into 1971. These were made by Fausti in Italy.

Field and Deluxe grade featherweights were offered - both 12 gauge, 2 3/4" chambers, 28" barrels, modified and full, front and middle brass beads, double triggers, extractors only, 6 3/4 pounds, and hand fitted and checkered American Walnut. 189 Deluxe grade and 2,038 field grade were produced.

The field grade has no engravings. Water table is marked LC Smith Field Grade. Rib is roll stamped LC Smith 12 GA. Serial numbers start at 56801 and end with production totaling 2,038 shotguns. Serial number of this shot gun places it mid way through production.

Price is $969 plus $35 shipping or best reasonable offer. As usual - an unqualified " l'll take it" posted on this thread trumps all "PM sent" questions and negotiations. This will have to be sent to an FFL 01. Payment by USPS Money Order.

I'm not a shotgun guy but if you have additional questions I'll try to answer them.

    Regards
    Marty
